It's also a mashup world as our recent clients have proven. No one owns their data anymore! Applications are built completely ontop of other companies' data - and what's the easiest and fastest way to access that data? javascript.
There's a popular wedding management application that allows a wedding
photographer to manage their lightboxes and allows their clients to purchase
photos. The app costs $1,200 and it only allows PayPal, Google Checkout or
Offline Check as payment options. If this was a javascript built app it

and extend its lifetime as a product. Instead, it's a compiled app that
does what it does and no more...
Jquery - javascript or like actionscript - Flex. Thanks for your advice! I'm going to put Flex on the shelf
and continue do my javascript thing which I'm already doing at work and home with great satisfaction.
Actually JQuery has made Javascript fun again. It's at a perfect level, you can manually code together
what you like, use components if you want and are not forced to use a "finished" component that is
impossible to override the basic functionality..
